Religious Education

With careful reflection and guidance, the children are led to new insights about their faith.

Prayer is an essential part of the life of the school.  The students pray daily and on special occasions.  We celebrate Whole School Mass each term and celebrate special Feast Days.  Infant Liturgies are specially prepared for the younger students and are a very successful part of our Religious Education Program.

As part of our engagement with St Nicholas Parish, the school celebrates Family Mass on the first Sunday of each month during the school term.  We invite all families of the school to join with the Parish Community on these special days.

All children take part in the Sacramental Programs offered, although only those baptised Catholic may receive the Sacrament, with other children receiving a special blessing.  The Sacramental Programs are as follows:

  • Year 3 – The Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of First Eucharist
  • Year 6 – The Sacrament of Confirmation

The Sacramental Programs are run in close consultation with the Parish and begin with a Parent Information Evening to outline the process fully.
